Pompeii

Take a step back in time, Pompeii acts as an open book allowing us to witness art, customs, trades and everyday life of the past. For centuries left to sleep under the layers of ash, lava and mud now this open-air museum welcomes thousands of people every day. With the help of modern technology, the archaeologists can bring Pompeii back to life, the same does not apply to the plaster casts of the bodies you can see amongst the ghostly surroundings, yes real people caught drawing their last breath.

Pompeii is one of the main reasons people flock to this part of Italy, especially now that it cannot be said how long before it is reburied by the sleeping giant Vesuvius.

Herculaneum

In the past Ercolano was a prestigious seaside Resort for the Roman Patricians, it lays at the base of Mount Vesuvius the giant that devastated the town in 79 AD. It was buried by a thick stratum of volcanic lava which solidified in a truly short amount of time in contrast to the nearby Pompeii. Thanks to the seal that was created, you can still see the town virtually in its original state, even certain timber features remain in the prestigious villas. A large part of the Archaeological site is yet to be uncovered; excavations take place daily so who knows you may be lucky enough to be a witness to an extremely important moment in modern day history.

Positano

A heart stopping small town with its colourful faded buildings cascading down the hillside like a waterfall to the seafront, at the same time allowing the skyline to be dominated by the splendid Majolica dome of the church of S. Maria Assunta, home to the valuable Black Virgin.

Positano has inspired many picture postcards and this vibrant small town is graced with wide stepped terraces, elegant boutiques filled with the distinguished Positano Fashion, and excellent restaurants making it a holiday resort favoured by the elite, also making it one of the most visited places in Italy. The most famous town along the legendry Amalfi Drive.

Ravello

This small aristocratic town is where natural beauty and splendid landscape combine with the peace and enchantment of the precious architectural monuments, the villas and gardens.

Over the years it has attracted many artists, musicians and writers it is home to the Villa Rufolo from where the panorama of the Gulf of Salerno inspired Richard Wagner enough to complete his famous opera the Parsifal.

Many flock to this enchanting town to admire the classical music concerts performed here every summer and see the musicians suspended in mid-air on the man-made stage that gives the impression of not knowing whether you are closer to the sea or to the sky.

Amalfi

Amalfi gives the name to one of the most famous stretches of Coastlines in the world due to its Hidden Historical Masterpieces and Turbulent past still alive in the atmosphere today.

During the height of its Power Amalfi became the most important Port of the Mediterranean.

Still today the guardian of the Tabule Amalfitane the first written laws of the sea.

Being one of the four Maritime Republics of Italy, this is where Maritime History and Modern day Italian Dolce vita cohabit perfectly.

As you walk through the Arch of the ancient walls you are mesmerised by the imposing Cathedral of Saint Andrea that dominates the main Piazza Duomo ornate with many Restaurants, bars and traditional Trattorias.

Amalfi is situated at the base of Valle delle Ferriere, not far from the main Piazza Duomo you will find “Museo della Carta” this is where you can Marvel at how the Hand Made Paper was produced and soak up the atmosphere of years gone by.

You will be able to find the Paper in the many boutiques that line the cobbled streets of Amalfi.

Capri

With its soaring cliffs, emerald waters, lush vegetation and whitewashed Villas cascading towards the sea Capri is a capsule of Mediterranean beauty.

The Roman Emperors fell in love with its beauty and have left behind many treasures for us to admire such as Villa Jovis, Tiberius Palace and many more.

Capri is one of the most famous islands of the world, drawing thousands of visitors every day to marvel at its natural beauty.

You will rub shoulders with the rich and famous whilst walking along the characteristic Via Tragara and Via Camerelle where you will find boutiques of Prada, Gucci and Ferragamo then enjoy an espresso or Cocktail in the famous Piazetta.

During the summer because of its popularity, it can become terribly busy and seem a little commercial.

The best way to see its beauty is from the sea, a tour of the Island by boat will not only give you a unique prospective but also let you discover hidden gems such as the natural rock formations, secluded bays and grottoes such as the infamous Grotta Azzurra.

There are no words to describe the feeling of getting up close and taking away a snapshot of the trademark of Capri, the Faraglioni Rocks.
